Jerry F. Nauert

Jerry Nauert earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master Degrees from the University of Missouri – Columbia. He began as a teacher/coach in Collins, Missouri, before becoming an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Missouri in 1965. In 1968, Jerry accepted the position of head athletic trainer and assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, where he continues to mentor and teach.

Jerry is one of the charter members and founders of the WATA, serving as the organization’s first president in 1975.

During his tenure at UW-Oshkosh, he served as an assistant baseball coach, and as a certified American Red Cross and American Heart Association instructor, at the same time missing only two UW-Oshkosh home athletic events in 22 years as the head athletic trainer. Jerry is a past recipient of the WATA Distinguished Service Award, WATA Certificate of Appreciation, and Founding Fathers Recognition Award. He was inducted into the St. Louis, MO, Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996.
