John Eggart

1944 – ACTIVE

John Eggart received his Bachelor of Science and Physical Therapy Certification from the University of Colorado in 1967. He was certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association in 1970 and earned a Master of Science from Winona State University in 1978. Throughout his career he has demonstrated a continuing quest for knowledge which resulted in John becoming a Sports Certified Specialist of the APTA in 1988.

John has been the Chief Physical Therapist at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse for the past 30 years and also spent 11 years as the Head Athletic Trainer at that institution. He has devoted his career to the students and athletes he has worked with and instilled within them the characteristics of hard work, responsibility and determination. John has also been very community oriented throughout his career and continues to be involved with the athletic training program in his hometown of Holmen, WI.

John is a founding father of the Wisconsin Athletic Trainers’ Association and has been very active in the development of the athletic training profession in the state of Wisconsin. The WATA is indebted to John for his contributions. He will long be remembered for the positive affect he has had on the lives of those he has come in contact with.
