Richard Henke, ATC

Richard graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. He was an athletic training student in the NATA Internship Program under the direction of Glen Meidl, ATC. Rick received his NATA Certification November 29th, 1982. he has been an ATC for 35 years, an NATA member for 39 years, a Wisconsin LAT since 2001 and a WATA member for 29 years.

His athletic training career has included positions with the Cleveland Indians as a minor league ATC, UWEC as a part time ATC, Georgia Physical Therapy as a clinical outreach ATC, The McDonough Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center as an orthopedic clinical ATC, orthopedic surgical first assistant, coordinator of athletic training services and high school ATC at Wisconsin Rapids High School and the Marshfield Clinic Health System as an orthopedic clinical ATC, orthopedic surgical first assistant and full time ATC at Lincoln High School.

Rich has served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the WIAA State Cross Country and Gymnastics State Meets for 29 years, and the WIAA State Spring and Summer Baseball Tournaments for 8 years. He was the Head Athletic Trainer for the 2000 North Team at the 24th Annual Wisconsin Shrine Bowl High School Football game. Rick was awarded the Wisconsin Rapids Public School District Board of Education Friend of Education Award in 2012 for his work with the WRPS district student athletes and athletic programs.
